The Bath Exhibition

Jill Toman and Suzanne Ladd kindly showed us the photos from the Bath Exhibition that was this year a Virtual Event, and provided us with explanation and commentary on many of the images.

The theme was “A Different View” and it provided Bath members with a range of options from totally abstract to the more realistic and obvious. I was an interesting set of images, and one that caught the imaginations of the growing number of our own members showing an interest in creative approaches both in the taking of the photo and in the post processing. Again, lockdown is providing opportunities to learn and improve.

With restrictions lifting we are now able to meet up in the open air again in limited numbers, so the popular weekly walks will return from Wednesday 7th April when Janice Cuer and Jane Richardson will lead a walk between Beckington and Lullington. Hoping the weather warms up a little! Equally popular the Challenges continue and last week’s efforts “In the Wild” produced some interesting shots. This week I hope members will take advantage of the fact that the great outdoors in once again open for business, and that they will get out there and get some “Action” shots in tier local areas. For some this may well mean sports action , but it is by no means limited to this- interpret away!

Next week we will be enjoying a talk by Simon Caplan entitled “Out of the Dark” exploring still life techniques emulating the style of the old masters. This could well provide a stimulus for a future Challenge or perhaps a competition ?
